Mastering your mind takes disciple, practice and consistency. This new skill will not happen overnight. You will need to be patience with yourself while learning these new principles and values. It is also vital that you have a willing attitude towards change. Recognize and address the issues that are holding you back. And BE disciplined to take action and DO the work!
Do you have a willing attitude towards change? Are you ready to change the way you think? Are you willing to uncover the negative self- limiting doubts that you’ve had for far too long? If you are truly ready to address the issues and do the work necessary, you can have the life that you want or desire?
Here are 3 tips to help you conquer the art of mastering your mind:
1. First thing First:
In order to have true success, you must be willing to change. Change requires that you make a conscious effort to think about what you are thinking about. Once you are able to make a conscious consistent effort regarding your thoughts, that’s when the miracles and magic occurs. If you are serious about training your mind you will need to examine and confront old belief systems and values. For instance, maybe you were told over and over in your childhood that you would never be successful or amount to anything. In order to win in life, you will have to immediately reject that story and speak a new TRUTH or BELIEF. You will need to replace the negative story with a truth statement of, “I am more than capable of obtaining the necessary skills required in order to become my best self!” If you’re not mindful of your thoughts, they can silently hinder your success, by keeping you too fearful and inactive to go after your dreams, goals or desires.
In order to have lasting change, you must do the work and it must be repetitious. Be proactive and take daily consistent steps that will eventually become habits. Often, once you conquer one negative thought, you’ll discover another one underneath it. This is why you must be persistent, never having a give up attitude. Instead, be committed to keeping a positive attitude even when you fail. If you fail, don’t be as the pessimist and say, “I knew it wouldn’t work anyway. I give up.” In order to be successful, you must model the optimist and say to yourself, “It’s ok, I will start again tomorrow.” Never allow yourself more than one day to wallow in self-pity, with the understanding that one day too many, could throw you completely off your game. One day could be all that’s standing between you and success.
2. Do something every day to improve your thoughts and get your closer to your new mindset:
Joyce Meyer often refers to our negative thought life as, “stinking thinking” and wrote an entire book, entitle The Battlefield of the Mind, dedicated to the mindset and getting to the root of the “stinking thinking.” Become a master of self and uncover the issues that are hindering you from achieving your dreams. Sometimes detecting the root cause of our fear will uncover childhood pains, low self-esteem, low self -value, low self- worth and a lack of confidence. Once uncovered, get to work immediately, create a new belief in that area and center your thoughts on it, rather than the old.
Your mind is your secret weapon and is similar to a computer processor which is able to store millions and millions of thoughts, memories and ideas. Once you gain the knowledge of how to master your mind there is nothing that can stop you from obtaining what may at first seem impossible.
3. Make habits that can help you master your mind a part of your daily life. Here are 7 habits that are key to you conquering the art of mastering your mind.
1. Get rid of limiting beliefs immediately and replace with new truth statements.
2. Speak the new belief over and over until it has made a stronger impression on your mind than the old belief.
3. Be open and willing to grow and enhance your mind.
4. Train your mind daily to consistently think positively throughout the day.
5. Operate from an optimistic vs a pessimistic mindset.
6. Operate from a growth mindset, understanding that growth is vital to change.
7. Operate from an intentional mindset, having clear intentions on goals and on ways of obtaining them.
Once again, remember that this is not a process that happens overnight. Take it day by day and through repetition and practice, you will notice that your life will change drastically. Enjoy the journey and allow yourself to feel good about becoming your best self. When you master your mind, you master your life.
